You will be greeted by a cemetery representative when you arrive on the day of your loved one’s military funeral service. A funeral service will take place at the committal shelter, where you and anyone else who wishes to extend their respect to the deceased will be led. It is at this point that military funeral honors may be performed if your family has chosen to do so. The military honors will last approximately 20 minutes, and will be immediately followed by a formal burial service.
During traditional military funeral honors, your loved one will be honored with a beautiful rendition of “Taps”, followed by a customary rifle detail, as well as a color guard, and uniformed service members who will present the family with a burial flag.
Please note: Viewing facilities are not available at national cemeteries. The family must arrange for funeral services at a seperate location.
