Charlie Longstreet was the second son of six children born to the union of Willie B. and Mary Grace Longstreet on February 7, 1956. He is preceded in his home going by his father and three brothers, William, Harvey, and Gregg. Charlie attended Holden Street Elementary School and received a General Education Diploma (GED) from Jones High School. He worked in construction for many years. He grew up in and was baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church of Orlando. Charlie was never married but informally adopted and helped raise his long-time girlfriend, Ms. Rubynell Dixon’s son, “Batman Dixon,” and the four children of his recent girlfriend, Ms. Mary Davis, Markeyce Davis, Te’mar Davis, Cecilia Davis, and Earl Carlton.

Charlie leaves the following relatives to mourn him: two sisters, Sandra Longstreet (daughters Tasha and Brandy), Mary Elizabeth Longstreet (daughter Ebony Sherrie), and Gregg’s daughter Charlene Longstreet. He also leaves sisters and brothers on his father’s side of the family: Gail Longstreet, Annette Longstreet, Lois Longstreet, and Patricia Longstreet; two brothers, James and Richard Longstreet and a host of nieces and nephews.

Judge Ye Not

Judge not thy brother’s failings, nor ever be the one

To hurl a stone at anything that he has ever done.

Scorn not his humble efforts, nor cast him to the ground,

He may have just discovered what thou has never found.

Be not so self-righteous; thy foot can also fall …

No man who lives is blameless, for sin has touched us all.

And God alone must judge us; no man has been assigned.

Because the Lord alone can see within your heart … and mine.
