Dona Solomon, age 51, of Davenport, Florida, passed away August 13, 2023, at AdventHealth Heart of Florida in Haines City, Florida. She was born on January 30, 1972, in St Mary Jamaica W. I. to Basil Solomon and Ventrice Mills Coote.
Dona is survived by her parents; Basil Solomon and Ventrice Mills Coote. Son, Dominic Solomon; Brothers, Michael Smith, Ricardo Smith, and Godfrey Mills; Sisters, Althea Mills and Kimberly Mills; sister-in-law Rhoda Leonard; niece, Kimisha Stewart; nephew, Kempton Smith and great-nephew, Isaiah Stewart.
Also preceded in death by her brother, Chris Mills.
Dona graduated from West Orange High School and attended Rollins College. She was a current employee for Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida, dedicating the last 12 years to her team and students.
She was a loving mother, aunt, sister, and friend who always put her family first. Dona was the kind of person who would be there when you needed her, and she was always willing to lend an ear and a helping hand.
Viewing hours will be from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm on Friday, August 25, 2023, at Mitchell’s Funeral Home.
Celebration of her life will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Mitchell’s Funeral Home with Bishop Teddy Kitson officiating. The family will also receive friends from 9:00 am - 9:45 am prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
