James Ellis Blackmon was born to the late Tom Ellis Blackmon and Pauline Blair Blackmon in Shorterville, Alabama on November 3, 1952 and died on March 1, 2026 in Orlando/Maitland, Florida. He is a 1971 graduate of Oak Ridge High School in Orlando and served his country for three years in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. James is survived by his son, Charles Hargrove (Texas); his three sisters Paulette Blackmon Polk, Phyllis Blackmon Ledbetter (St Marys, GA) and Yvette Blackmon Leonard (Orlando, FL); nieces Shelly Blackmon Ellis, Manesa Blackmon Simmons, Charlbrett Polk, and Addie Alexandria Ledbetter, RN; nephews Matthew Leonard, Andrew Leonard, and Tyler Polk. In addition to his nieces and nephews, he is survived by his only living Aunt Verlie Blackmon Larkins (94 years old). He also leaves behind a host of cousins, friends, extended family and caregiver Connie Lee to cherish his memory. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his younger sister, Patricia Ruth Blackmon (21 Years Old).
