Visitation Information

Affectionately known as “Big Q” to all who knew and loved him, Johnnie Lee Quinn was born on May 24, 1935, in Panola, Alabama, to the late Peter and Bertha Quinn. He was preceded in death by his brother, Peter Quinn Jr., and his sisters, Margie Wilson and Teresa Mack.

Johnnie graduated from Crenshaw County High School in Luverne, Alabama, before proudly serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1961. He went on to build a 32‑year career with Lockheed Martin as a Computer Technician. Dedicated to his community, he also volunteered faithfully for over 19 years with the Citizens Observer Program of the Orlando Police Department.

On May 13, 1960, Johnnie married Lenora Woodard of Winter Park, Florida. Although Johnnie and Lenora never had children of their own, they became cherished grandparents and godparents to countless people whose lives they touched over the years.

His passion for photography, motorcycles and classic cars brought him great joy, and he remained an active member of his motorcycle club for more than 50 years.

Johnnie’s memory will forever be cherished by his devoted wife, Lenora Quinn of Orlando, FL; five sisters‑in‑law; two brothers‑in‑law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, godchildren, and friends.

What a great man of God. He smiled with so much sincerity of heart. You knew who he was and his honest care towards you. I met Mr. Quinn and his wife through my God Father Charles U. Bartley. They were best buddies and neighbors taking care of one another.
They shared their love for service and cars with big smiles.
Every time we visited Orlando from Atlanta, he always opens his heart up to restaurant food and home visits along with Ms. Lanora. I am going to miss the drive-by visits. We have so many photos together. I remembered my last recent visit he was concerned about me going into the house to see his wife. I am so blessed to have spent time with them these last months.
He will be missed and appreciated for his good works on earth.
    Brenda and Morey Ganaway.
