Claborn Morris was born on September 2, 1947, to the late Rossie and Jessie Morris. He was affectionately known as “Oops” to his family or “Clay” to his friends.
Born in Mississippi, Claborn grew up with a spirit of curiosity and determination that carried him through every stage of life. After moving from Mississippi to Florida, he married Wilma ‘Jill’ Tompkins in 1965. During their 29 years of marriage, he was a loving father to their four children - Len, Gwen, Precious, and Clay. After their divorce, Claborn married the late Cora Morris in 1998. He was a devoted husband for over 27 years and helped with her children – Nikki and Devone.
Claborn was loved by all who met him and he loved his family and friends very much. He never met a stranger. he had a great sense of humor and had a gift to make others laugh. His personality was infectious and he had a humble spirit.
Claborn was known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering loyalty. He enjoyed cooking, bowling, traveling, fixing things (using duck-tape or superglue), and driving both for exploring on vacation or professionally. He worked with American Sightseeing, HowardGrocery Company, and eventually retired with Greyhound.
Early Monday morning, March 2, 2026, he departed this earthly life. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Rossi and Jesse Morris, his wife, Cora Morris, brother, Baron Morris, and sister, Fannie Lee Spikes.
He leaves to cherish his memories: four children, Lendilla Caldwell (George Providence II) of Fort Irwin, CA, Gwendilla Bing (Donald) of Deland, FL, Zerlena Morris of Orlando, FL and Claborn L. Morris of Winter Garden, FL; two brothers, Eugene Sipp of Moss Point, MS, and JZ Sipp of Pascagoula, MS, 17 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and a host of other loving family members.
