James Edgar Davis says
December 19, 2024 at 6:01 PMMy cousin Elmer was someone I looked up to and who always exhibited the nature and character of a silent (behind the scenes) giant. A talented man who showed respect and courteousness to all in his orbit. From the teenage years he always “had the back” of his brothers and sisters as well as the rest of us. He was a solid rock who would be there for you when needed.
As a young man establishing a highly successful business in one of America’s largest cities (San Franciso), he appeared to be the same rock — a man of strength and character — and still one who facilitated a better life for his family. I was as highly impressed back then as I am today. He never used a lot of words (at least not in my presence) but you knew what he meant and that he was with you.
I have to confess that it’s been a long time since we last communicated, nevertheless, I have to believe that he maintained his status as a “rock” of the immediate Farmer family.
I hope and pray that our God will lift up our spirits and allow us to remember the good times and the good things that El did for all of us individually and collectively.
To all those (caregivers, family members and friends) who have travelled this journey with El to the end, you know his nature, his character, his generosity, and his love of family as well if not better than I. May our God continue to lead us through this period of bereavement and enable us to keep his many memories close to our hearts going forward.
Cousin Sonny
