Iesha Mariah Simon Obituary

Iesha Mariah Simon was born on Tuesday, November 3, 1992, in Orlando, Florida, to her proud parents, Pamela Williams and Ivan Simon. At the age of 4 and her family, Iesha began attending Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Orlando, Florida. In 2002, she joined Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized on December 01, 2002.

“Esha Boo,” as her family affectionately called her, was a proud graduate of Dr. Phillips High School Class of 2011 and later matriculated to Bethune-Cookman University, where she graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. Iesha was a Certified Case Manager where she worked with family adoptions and helped those who gained temporary custody of the children in their care.

If you knew Iesha, this would not come as a surprise to you because the love she gave and received was life for her. She eagerly loved others which stemmed from her personal relationship with God.

Iesha attended weekly Bible Studies with her family. Her favorite verses were John 3:16 and Philippians 4:13. Her favorite song was Kirk Franklin’s “Lean On Me,” and her favorite flower was the Sunflower.  Iesha was like a sunflower full of life, happiness, and love.

Iesha was an active member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church. She was involved in the Youth Choir, Girl Scouts, and Worship, and Praised Dance Team.  As an adult, she continued to support the young people that were in these ministries as well. Her presence in everything she did was known because of the way she loved others. She never hesitated to say the words, “I love you,” and they almost always were followed with a big hug and a kiss. One of Iesha’s greatest accomplishments was becoming a homeowner. Iesha was an avid traveler as she had the pleasure of visiting Mexico with her favorite cuzzos and The Bahamas with her mother and sisters.

Iesha was also a member of The Order of Eastern Star Golden Star Chapter #49 since September 28, 2017.

Iesha’s family best describes her as beautiful, loving, lively, happy, supportive, loving, educated, independent, and a lover of Christ and God’s word. Like her favorite flower, Iesha was our sunshine. She came, and she shone brightly. Iesha will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her: grandparents – Winston Marshall, John Simon, and Eddie Williams; great-grandparents – Mary Glasco, Jeff and (Alice) Brady, Mariah and Alonzo Vinson; aunt – Kimberly Williams.

Iesha was a bright light with a beautiful smile. Her kindness and generosity will be missed. She brightened any room she walked into and I’ll miss her laugh. She was one in a million.
